Autauga County Highpoint Trip Report

Bill Jacobs's directions are fine, although I approached from the north. The road to this HP has been gated and posted halfway to the top by the Marbury Water Authority since his visit in 1999, possibly a victim of post-9/11 hysteria. The sign has a phone number - which I called - but it being a Sunday I got a recorded message. The sign reads: "Upper Water Tanks Marbury Water Authority No Trespassing". I construed this to mean the fence around the water tanks, so I jogged to the summit and walked the perimeter. The fence surrounding the water tanks is old and rusty.

It may also be possible to approach this one from the road to the west. There are no postings and there was a cleared path to the summit road from this area. I didn't investigate further.
