Cherokee County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: November 18, 2006
Author: Shannon Dillmore
Followed Mike Beavers's previous trip report. Parked just near the trailhead at a gate.
Took the Pinhoti Trail, which is well-marked except for a few short passages.
I passed over Flagpole Mountain (the Cherokee COHP) to the saddle
with the memorial but decided against bushwhacking up to the Polk County (GA).
It was the first day of deer hunting season and I had my dog with me.
Hearing gunshots most of the day made my decision for me.
Round trip: 10 miles, about 2,600 feet total gain.
