Sumter County High Point Trip Report
four areas (440+ ft)

Areas 1-2. I didn't take good notes so there could be some route/mileage errors. From intersection of H17
and H80, south of York proceed south on H17 for 0.9 mile to CR9. Turn south/southwest for 0.6 mile.
Turn right onto Siloam Road for 0.8 mile. Turn left at the church for 1.8 miles and park. Head north on an
old logging road to a false summit then turn right (east) to the first area. Second area is east requiring some
bush thrashing through a valley. But, in the forest about a hundred feet north from the first area is an old
road that arcs north and over a saddle before turning back to the second area, saving much bushwhacking grief.
Third area is a 0.8-mile drive further down the road and a walk south up a primitive, overgrown roadbed.
Fourth area is in county northeast sector. From intersection of H28/CR22, southeast of Livingston,
proceed east 5.1 miles on CR22 to a gated road leading to high area.
Highest point appears to be the eastern side of the contour.
