Tallapoosa County High Point Trip Report
unnamed (1,180+ ft)
Date: October 20, 2000
Author: Fred Lobdell
For access to this high point, follow the directions under the trip report for Candler Mountain
in Coosa County.
From the last fork before the summit on Candler Mountain where the loop road splits, take the left fork
almost to where it bends sharply to the right. From this point a rough road descends to the left (north),
passing to the left (west) of the high point. Follow this road for about 0.2 miles, then veer off to the right
(northeast) and bushwhack down to the saddle between Candler Mountain and the unnamed high point of
Tallapoosa Co. From the saddle, bushwhack northeast to the summit of the high point. Total hike is
around 0.7 miles with an elevation loss and gain of less than 150 feet each way.
The bushwhacking is not difficult.
