Hot Spring County Highpoint Trip Report
BM at Bismarck Lookout Tower (1,282 ft)

From the junction of AR 192 and AR 7 in Lake Hamilton, just south of Hot Springs, head south on AR 7
for 8.9 miles until you see signed Tower Road off to your left. This point can also be reached from the
junction of AR84 and AR7 in Bismarck by going north for 3.1 miles on AR7 until you see Tower Road on
your right. Tower road immediately has a stream/creek running across it and immediately after that is a
gate. I parked on the side of AR 7 and walked across the stream and found that the gate was not locked
and not posted. I opened it up and drove 1.4 miles up the dirt road to the summit. The stream wasn't bad
when I was there but, after a good rainfall conditions might be different. The summit has old lookout
tower and a fenced in communications hut. Fortunately, the HP appears to be under the lookout tower and
is easily accessed. Dirt road could be driven in passenger car but high clearance makes it easier.
