Independence County High Point Trip Report

From Almond, Arkansas on Highway 25, take Spinks Road (gravel) and go west 0.2 mile and then turn north on an unsigned road (I think the name is Almond Road). Staying on Almond Road, going north, it soon comes to a fork, stay to the left. The road then goes in a northwesterly direction passing a house on the left and at 0.5 mile from Spinks Road it reaches another fork. The address at this fork is 160, go right. The road leads up to some chicken houses.

I talked to a guy working at the houses and he pointed out about where the county line ran and pointed to the southeast corner of the 2nd chicken house from the south as the highest point in Independence County, it appeared unnatural. I walked about between the chicken houses and to a hay field just to the south of the houses. The hay field looked to be the highest, but may be in Cleburne County it was tough to tell. I couldn't effectively use the hand level because of chicken litter on the ground, both between the chicken houses and in the field.

This highpoint takes the cake, as the worst smelling one in Arkansas.
