Apache County High Point Trip Report
Mt Baldy
Date: June 20, 2001
Author: Ken Jones
The trailhead for this is not where it shows on any maps I've seen. It's moved a bit east. The easiest way to
find it is to head on SR 273 8.4 miles from its junction with SR 260.
It is clearly signed as the West Baldy trailhead.
My clinometer sightings in the summit area (including summit-to-summit, and from selected spots between
summits) convince me that the 11400'+ "long contour" is between 2 and 5 feet higher than Baldy Peak. I
don't believe it is necessary to enter the Apache Reservation to claim this one.
