Mount Lemmon

The summit of Mt. Lemmon is fenced off and contains a sizable complex belonging to the Univ. Of Arizona and used as an astronomical observatory. Some people feel that simply getting to the fence is good enough when the gates are closed, which is usually the case. I was fortunate this summer when I drove to the top and found the gates open and was able to wander all around the summit area without being challenged.
