Yavapai County Highpoint Trip Report

I came at this one through Walker, since Walker Road leaves AZ 69 just east of Prescott.
As an aside, this is possibly the dustiest road I have ever been on in my life.
All day long I had been getting thunderstorms and heavy rains.
Now, the one time I wanted rain, it didn't come. I was behind someone I swear was
dragging chains to stir up more dust. Even staying 200-300 yards behind did little good.
Followed the various maps (e.g. Delorme and Prescott NF maps) without incident. The road is a
shade rough just past "Potato Patch" but otherwise not hard to follow. I parked at the spot
mentioned by Mike Schwartz and walked to the top. Could have used a flashlight going up and
definitely need the one I had on the way down.
Heading back to Phoenix, I was very happy to see the bumper to bumper traffic going north, not south.
