Signal Peak

We made the ascent of Signal Peak tougher than it had to be: we missed the cairned route and made our own way up and over the cliffs to the west side of the canyon. It was mostly steep loose rock plus some short class 3 scrambles but we had to stop every few feet and figure out where to go, plus enountering some dead ends. Nevertheless, we made the summit, then found the cairned route back down to my truck.

There didn't appear to be too many cairns down low, right at the start of the hike, or maybe we just missed them. We were blessed with excellent weather.
