Glenn County High Point Trip Report
Black Butte

We did this just after Mendocino County's Anthony Peak and found the roads excellent except for the very
last little bit; but it is still easily passable in a passenger car to within less than a mile of the summit.
It is a very nice short walk to the summit and the views are excellent. We could see Mt Shasta, Mt Lassen, and
nearby Anthony Peak; but where the Pacific should have been was haze. We could also see a couple smoke
plumes from active fires in the distance and some blacked hillsides not far away from earlier fires. There was
a lot of driving for this and Mendocino's highpoint but it is really beautiful country and well rewards the effort.
