Monterey County High Point Trip Report
Date: June 15, 1998
Author: Andy Martin
The early start (4:45 alarm) was somewhat negated by a "shortcut" that had to be
aborted when the bush bashing got too nasty. The first ascent of this peak must
have been very tough - CA chaparral is pretty thick. Our progress up the peak was
hastened by the mosquitoes and biting flies, which made rest stops brief.
However, the El Nino had yielded a nice crop of flowers, and the cool streams were
most welcome on the descent.
