This highpoint is an adventure in urban route-finding. A good street map is the only real essential, and maybe an automatic transmission for the hilly drive. We tried simply following the directions in Gary Suttle's "California County Summits" and while these are almost correct, they aren't completely correct, which led us to drive entirely around the highpoint before finding the turn that allowed us to get to the park. So get a good map. The walk itself is quite pleasant and there are great views from the top.
