Beautiful hiking through the Long Ridge Open Space Preserve, lots of great trails and views of the ocean
and Coast Range ridges. The cold continued, with frozen ground and frost in some locations late in the
afternoon, a rarity for this part of California.
Unfortunately, the highpoint is just outside the public land boundary, and the property owner clearly does
not want any trespassing. A newly installed electric fence surrounds the highpoint, which is clearly
visible about 70 yards away through the fence.
