Finally hooked up with Loro Patterson and got to finish off San Mateo.
I can't say enough good things about Loro; instead of having an unhappy owner looking
for his shotgun (wait, we're not in Texas), he seemed quite happy, let us tromp
all over his place, etc.... The house he's building is quite a nice one,
and will have a tremendous view.
Got to meet some other highpointers, Jim Sommerville and his friend.
His friend was "just starting" but still had more CA high points than I. The shame!
Jim has some insane number. Speaking of insane numbers, it turns out Loro has
something like 41 CA high points and 13 state high points. I eavesdropped on
Jim and Loro discussing Sutter Butte since I've read some stories about that;
but the only news I found was they both knew a bunch of people but none of the
people were giving up a coveted trip.
