Solano County Highpoint Trip Report

We took the standard route following Mix Canyon Road to the gate, which was locked. We found the highest natural ground mentioned in previous reports southwest of Tower 20. I didn't do any field work but I have to wonder if that outcrop isn't in Napa County. Robert Greene mentions another outcrop nearby which his GPS indicated IS in Napa County. I picked my way through the underbrush to that outcrop and got poison oak for my trouble.

According to the topo, the county line runs right over the summit of Mount Vaca. The problem is, the summit of Mt. Vaca no longer exists, having been shaved off for the communication towers.
