Baca County High Point Trip Report

I approached the HP of Baca county from the north-northeast. At the top of the steep grade up onto the mountain I came upon two roadrunners, about 30 feet from my truck. The HP of Baca county, found by odometer, is boringly flat. More fun is the HP of Carrizo Mtn, Potato Butte, about one mile to the west. Potato Butte is a volcanic extrusion, and was the source of the lava caprock that forms Carrizo Mtn.
