Pueblo County High Point Trip Report
Greenhorn Mountain
Date: July 4, 1998
Author: Ken Akerman
On Saturday morning, we met and headed out to Mount Greenhorn.
Driving distance from the paved road to the ridge line Mount Greenhorn trailhead
is about 24.9 miles, and only the last mile is rough, but is passable in a small
car with low clearance.
We began hiking at about 1:10 pm and completed a loop hike via the trail on the way up
and the old road on the way down. The hike to the summit and back was completed
in under three hours. It was raining on the summit ridge and we heard thunder,
but saw no lightning.
