I spent over an hour driving the 24 miles of gravel road. Again, it was rainy and foggy, and I missed the place where I should have left the trail. About 4 hours later I returned to my car, knowing I had not made the top.

After a rest, I set out again, this time going the alternate route in John and Dave's guidebook and was glad to find the summit register. Since I didn't feel like climbing more in the rain and fog, I changed my plans here.
