Weld County High Point Trip Report

We met at 7:20 am at 6th and Union Park and Ride and drove I-25 to Carr and then started looking for a way to the HP. Ultimately we stopped at the same Lazy D Ranch on U.S. 85 that had stopped Ken Akerman.

Dave Covill sweet-talked the rancher's wife to get permission. Off west and then north past Ponnequin camp we went. We drove past a wind-measurement tower and Dave Covill had to sweet-talk the crew there - now we were on another ranch. We drove to the west property fence, a big bison-proof fence and crawled under the Terry Bison Ranch property fence and hiked 1000' west to the Weld county HP - nice view.

We stopped to chat some more with the second rancher, then went to Cheyenne WY for a quick lunch.
