Hernando County High Point Trip Report

We drove up Chinsegut Hill first. A lady came out of the building and I told her we just wanted to drive up
to the top since we saw the historical sign. She invited us to get out and walk the grounds even though the
building was rented for the day. We got out and chatted, then heard a croaking near some fields which she
said might be Sandhill Cranes, so we took her offer and walked over, but didn't see the now-quiet culprit.
The turnoff onto Griffin Road for the second area is really 7.7 miles west from I-75, and about 1.9 miles
southeast of Brooksville on Highway 98. The corner lot now houses Community Bible Church, so we
parked in their parking lot and walked the edge of their mowed property to the highest area in the field,
which seems to be very near their corner marker.
