Cherokee County High Point Trip Report
Pine Log Mountain (2,331 ft)
Date: April 9, 2000
Author: Fred Lobdell
The summit of Pine Log Mt. is marked by a collection of towers.
Access is through the Lake Arrowhead development.
From the intersection of GA 140 with GA 108 in the community of Waleska, go west on 140
several miles to the entrance to the Lake Arrowhead development, which will be on your
left (south). (This point is also about 6 miles east of the intersection of GA 140 with
US 411.) Turn into the entrance road and take it to the security office at the entrance
to the development. Tell the guards that you want to go to the summit of Pine Log Mountain
and they will give you a map showing how to get to the gated access road and let you sign
for a key to the gate.
The access road itself is fairly rough in places, and requires a high-clearance vehicle;
an ordinary passenger car will not make it.
Drive or walk the access road to the summit of Pine Log Mountain.
From here the road continues southwest and gives access to the high point of Bartow County;
see the trip report under that county.
