Dawson County High Point Trip Report

Here are my figures for the driving distances from Highway 52, which are shorter than in Ron Tagliapietra's report:
The turn north onto Nimblewill Church Road from Amicalola Falls State Park is about 8 miles.
Follow this road for 1.2 miles to a 'T'-shaped intersection. The church will be across the road to the right,
but turn left here onto Forest Road 28. It is paved for the first 2.3 miles, then is rough for the next 5.1 miles
to Nimblewill Gap parking area. This road is passable to a normal car, but is quite rough; I bottomed out my car
pretty hard on rocks in the road a couple of times trying to go about 20 miles an hour.
We followed the trail northeast (right) from the road to its crest, then bushwhacked uphill to the top,
which is heavily guarded by blackberries. I got scratched up pretty good in my shorts, and will rate this above
Cowpen Mountain for thorniest in GA.
