Stone Mountain is a very impressive hunk of granite not to far East of Atlanta. To get to Stone Mountain take 275 East and then follow the signs to Stone Mountain.. Stone Mountain is located in the center of an amusement park. You have to pay a six dollar fee to get in the park. After you get in the park you have two options to reach the top. One is to hike to the top of the mountain which is about 1.2 miles one way. The other one is the way I reached the top of the mountain and that is to pay more money and take the sky lift. After you the reach the top there is BM on top of the mountain near the high point. The are some great 360 degree view from the top of the mountain. Note: Stone Mountain is a very popular place.
