Hall County Highpoint Trip Report
a liner (2,200+ ft)
Date: June 12, 2004

I didn't keep good notes on this but they're better than nothing.
From the Gainesville area, exit off I-85 at Highway 129/1 north (the Cleveland Highway). Follow 129 about
13 miles north to Highway 284. Turn Left. In less than 1 mile, turn Left on Shoal Road. Go 2.5 miles to
Walker Mountain Road (Private). Turn Left. Drive to the Cleo Jenkins residence to get permission to go
up the mountain.
I drove to the summit towers of Walker Mountain. A 4WD or a high clearance vehicle is required.
Mr. Jenkins property only goes to the county line. Another person owns the property in White County.
Mr. Jenkins didn't know his name but he is an absentee owner and lives near Atlanta.
After driving to the top, I returned to about the 2,200-foot level and bushwhacked to the liner area
(a GPS is recommended). I quartered the area, going up and down the ridge three times.
