Jackson County Highpoint Trip Report

My mission at the Jackson County highpoint was to make contact with the homeowner. No one was home
on my first visit of February 24th, 2001. Today they were home. When the homeowner came to the door,
I explained the reason for my visit and he was not at all surprised. We walked around to the back of the
house and he pointed out the highest area. It's located next to the foundation at the corner of the house and
the back deck. I suspect this may be back-fill but I cant say for sure. He also pointed out one of the two
reference markers located behind the house. He said the B/M is long gone and the house took its place.
I questioned if the B/M might be in the crawl space under the house and he said no, it's long gone.
He also said drop-in visits would be OK. The two dogs were friendly enough.

Hunting season is not a concern with this highpoint.
