Walker County's high point is now owned by Lulu Lake Land Trust. Visitors are welcome on the last
Saturday of each month. I tried a different approach than the one mentioned in Fred Lobdell's trip report.
From where Fred parked on GA 157, head north for several more miles until you reach Nick-A-Jack Road.
Turn right onto this road and continue on until you cross the creek (less than 1/2 mile). After you cross the
creek on the right side of the road there is an old logging road that has been gated. Park at the gate.
Then follow the old logging road south until you reach the summit ridge, then follow the ridge until you
reach the top. The bushwhack along the summit ridge is steep in places with some minor rock climbing
required to reach the top. The approach that Fred and others have reported is probably easier than the way I
did it. Total hike around trip about 4 miles. The view would probably have been great if it had been clear
but unfortunately for me it was a wet, cloudy, foggy day.
Due to the fog and rain I made a wrong turn on the way back to my truck and came out of the woods
several miles from my truck on GA 157. I was extremely fortunate that a young man picked me up and took
me back to my truck.
