Delaware County Highpoint Trip Report

Delaware County's highest point is located in Section 13 of Colony Township.
I visited there on March 21, 2005.
From the intersection of U.S. Highway 52 and State Highway 3 in Luxemburg,
in Dubuque County, I drove west 3.55 miles,
and turned right unto an unsigned gravel road.
I drove north on that road for 0.55 miles and parked on the opposite side
of the road at the south end of the grove.
There was a large number of very loud singing birds in the trees.
It was a little unnerving.
The field that contained the high point was muddy, with minimal snow.
The high point was an unremarkable field hill.
I continued northeast past the high point hill to check out another
piece of ground that appeared about as high, but it was lower.
10 minutes round trip, due partly to the muddiness.
