Saint Clair County High Point Trip Report

Jon Mann's report was excellent, especially since my visit was late at night and I really needed some spoon-fed directions.

New observations: From I-255 take Exit 6 on IL 3 and go 4.0 miles to IL 158 exit. Go 1.2 miles to the Columbia Quarry Road just after the county line. On the topo, the two contours just east of the word "road" are tree-lined quarry or sink hole ponds. At night, the flat summit was barren and windswept. The lights of the surrounding countryside gave it a lonely feeling.
