Brown County Highpoint Trip Report
three areas on Weedpatch Hill - including BM 1058 (1,050+ ft)

I had some extra time mid-day while traveling between Bloomington and Columbus,
so I was able to stop by Brown County State Park and bag this easy HP.
I followed Bob Schwab's excellent report.
I paid the $4 entrance fee (rental car had IN tags) and followed the main road
for 3 or so miles to the park office and the fire tower. I found a BM below the
tower but I could not make out its inscription. The view from the top of the
tower is quite good, particularly for flyover country. This would be a nice
little park to spend some time hiking in, which is surprising for IN.
The site of area 2 at the 3-way junction is the site of a new building being
constructed but this does not affect the HP as it seems to be in the middle of
the road.
Area 3 is just to the north and east off in the woods perhaps 100 meters.
It is a well defined little hillock. There is parking available at a small gravel
turnout just north of the road junction on the main road which provides good
access for #2 and #3.
