Dubois County High Point Trip Report

From the town of French Lick (boyhood home of Larry Bird) drive southwest on Indiana 56 to the Dubois/Orange County line. Continue west on Route 56 for another 3.3 miles and watch for the intersection with 900E Road. Turn right (north) and proceed another 1.8 miles to the intersection with 990N Road (gravel). Turn right (east) and drive 0.6 mile to a cabled drive which marks where the improved (gravel) portion of the road stops.

Park to the left and walk in the driveway to a camp which has a nice house, shed and pond. No one was home when I visited, but just walking in to ask permission carries you over the highest contour. The highest spot is near the oak tree right in front of the shed.
