Fayette County High Point Trip Report

From the center of Rushville, drive east on State Route 44 for 10 miles to the intersection of 650 W Road.
This point is roughly 2 miles east of the settlement of Glenwood, which sits astride the Rush/Fayette County
Line. Turn right (south) on 650W Road and proceed 0.4 miles to a tower on your right. On the day I
visited, the gate was open, so I parked near the gate and walked up the drive to the tower. The first area is
inside the fence which was also open. I thought the highest area was just north of the tower and building.
The second area is out in the cornfield, northwest of the tower about 0.25 mile. This area should only be
visited when crops have been harvested. Hand level checks seem to indicate that the western area is higher
(39° 37.395' N, 85° 15.996' W).
This site is just a few miles away from the high point of Rush County, so consider visiting there as well when
you are in this area.
