From US 6 at the Noble-DeKalb county line, proceed north on 1200E Road approximately 4 miles to a farm
on the left (west) owned by Ed Sattler. Ask permission to enter his property and visit area one. The high
spot is approximately 0.4 mile to the west in Mr. Sattler's alfalfa field near the woods.
The second area is located at Sand Hill, and can be reached from Mr. Sattler's farm by backtracking 0.5 mile
south on 1200E Road to an intersection with 1000N Road. Turn right (west) and proceed one mile to an
intersection with 1100E Road. Turn right (north) on 1100E Road and go 0.5 mile until you reach the
intersection with 1100N Road. Turn left (west) and proceed for 0.5 mile. Watch for a faint road going to
your right (north) that is marked by metal posts on each side.
Park here and hike up the road about 0.25 mile to the Weston Cemetery. This cemetery is badly vandalized
with over half of the stones broken and upturned. The highest contour begins in the back portion of the
cemetery and extends far out into the cornfield to the north. Hand leveling suggests that the highest ground
may be at the far side of this large field.
Walk extensively over the area to be sure you've visited the true highpoint.
If you visit when the corn is high, it will be extremely difficult to locate this high ground.
