Putnam County High Point Trip Report
one area just west of quarry (980+ ft)
Date: January 1, 2001
Author: Jon Mann
From Bainbridge IN: Go west on US 40 0.3 mile to county road 100 E. Turn south on CR 100 for 1/2
mile. Follow curve (west) in road 0.6 mile to another curve (south) where road becomes 50 E. Follow 50
E 0.4 mile to rise. I parked here, and walked around edge of quarry to high ground west of quarry. The
quarry looks like it is still active, but being New Year's Day, no one was around. There are a couple of
trailers which I assume are the quarry office 1/4 mile further south of where I parked. The highest ground
I saw looked to be mine spoil. The highest natural ground appeared to be along a line of trees just west of
the quarry edge, or in the field just west of there. The snow was deep (at least 2') in most places, so
walking was troublesome.
