Barton County Highpoint Trip Report

Nothing to add to Ken Oser’s fine report, except to be sure to visit Pawnee Rock Park on the north side of the town of Pawnee Rock (just south of the CoHP). From the CoHP, go east on 40 Road for 2.5 miles and turn right (south) onto paved 110 Road. Proceed 2 miles and turn right (west) before the road descends. Take the next left (south) which descends along a bluff. The entrance to the park is on the right (west), before you reach the town. There is an elevated viewing platform here and historic plaques, one of which shows the rock outcrop before it was quarried away.
