Coffey County High Point Trip Report
Date: April 29, 2001

From Lamont, follow Kansas 57 east 4 miles to the Coffey county line, then drive north for 1.5 miles to the
road crest at a gate on the right. This is posted "No Hunting without written permission" at the gate.
The first area is just across the gate, and the highest area is next to a collapsed barn (shown on topo).
The second area is about 0.5 mile east and can be seen from the first area. I jogged along the edge of the
field, crossed a low fence near the second contour, then up to the high area, which happened to be right on
top of a groundhog hole. I took clinometer readings from each area, and both read at +0.5 degrees, so I
guess both need to be visited to count for now.
