Ellis County High Point Trip Report

From the Ellis/Ness/Rush tri-county corner, drive west 0.8 mile, then turn right and drive 1 mile north. Go straight onto a grass road about 0.3 mile to a gate and park. Cross the gate and hike northeast to the highpoint. A farmer moving hay in the field to the southwest told me it was OK to hike up, but said the highest point in Ellis county is 2 miles east, which was level with the highpoint area according to my clinometer. It turns out he was wrong (whew!); topozone shows his area at 2350+ ft.
