Ballard County High Point Trip Report

two areas 1 1/4 miles east-northeast of New York

From Wickliffe take KY121 east for about 0.5 mile, then go straight onto KY286 at a curve and market (which serves good sandwiches). Continue for about 6 miles to New York, then go another mile east and turn left onto KY358. Drive north about 0.3 mile and park on the right shoulder where possible at a wooded patch, just before Miller Road comes in from the left. Hike east around the south side of the wooded area into the unfenced field to the first contour, then northwest a few hundred feet to the second contour. The second, farther area seems higher, but my hand level was in the car. We had knocked at a house on the corner just north of these highpoints, but nobody was home.
