From Big Spring at the tri-county junction of Meade, Breckinridge, and Hardin counties, drive south on KY
2199 about 1.5 miles to the junction with KY 2213 and bear right, staying on KY 2199. Drive 1.05 miles to
a long gravel drive on the right, just past the first area on the right. Drive to the end of the drive and obtain
permission from the people at the house to hike up. I believe it is a rental, but we met the owner (who lives
in Meade county) in the driveway, and he gave us permission to drive up to his highpoint area. After some
persuasion and reassurance from me, Jon Mann drove his rental car to the top over the grassy field.
Next drive 0.3 mile south and turn left at a white house on the left, owned by Mr. Lucas, and obtain
permission to cross his fence and hike to his highpoint about 300 yards away. One Tree Peak or Knob
would be appropriate for this one! My watch altimeter gave a 10 foot higher altitude for this area over the
first area, and we stayed on both for 3-4 minutes with no change on either.
With the closeness in time and space, I would bet this second area is higher.
