Butler County High Point Trip Report

Andy lists 2 areas for the county, but 1 is 810+ ft,
while this 820+ ft contour clearly touches the county line.
From Caneyville take KY185 south about 3.5 miles and turn right onto KY411. Go 1.0 mile to the top of
the hill and turn right at a sign 'Angus, The Nelson Farm,' with mailbox #7257. Mr. Nelson and his son
were outside and told us the gates were open to the top and we could drive up. There are cattle grazing
here parts of the year, so there were two gates to drive through. We drove within 100 feet and parked, then
walked to a cattle feeder at the summit, then walked southwest to clip the Butler county line, just as the
contour does. He has topos and said he is aware that this is the highest area in the county. Another bump in
the field to the west appears as high, but hand-leveling from each other confirms that the map is correct.
