Wolfe County Highpoint Trip Report

From Exit 57 on the Mountain Parkway, go south on KY205 5.0 miles and turn left onto Shockey Fork Road. Follow this 0.6 mile and turn left onto a gravel road, go 0.1 mile and turn right into a gravel parking area at a horse barn.

Ask permission at one of the houses on the right, then walk southeast on a muddy road about 0.7 mile, then cross the creek and head east uphill to the ridge crest and follow it east and then south to the highpoint. An ATV trail is encountered near the top of this ridge, and can be walked near the highpoint, but a little more bushwhacking is required to reach the summit. We followed the right (southwest) side of the hollow before finally crossing the creek due to many blackberry bushes; the house shown on the topo in the hollow is long gone.

GPS was used here also to verify location and direction.
