Franklin Parish High Point Trip Report

The "summit" road in this parish has now been upgraded to an improved gravel surface, making it quick and easy when in that area. Also the concrete slab on top has been busted up and removed. Pretty picnic spot. When in NE LA check out Poverty Pt. -- one of North America's oldest archeological sites, very impressive effigy mound (estimated 3,500 years old), the well designed interpretive park now being assumed by the NPS.
