Saint John the Baptist Parish Highpoint Trip Report

Followed Bob Martin's directions. Some fine tuning on directions: Interstate-10 to LA-641 towards Gramercy. LA-641 turns into LA-3213 as it crosses over the massive bridge spanning the Mississippi River. Get on LA-18, head east through the town of Wallace. The highway makes a sharp right bend away from the levee after about a mile. Take the first left onto a dirt road in an open field across from some abandoned houses. Drive over the levee and down into the HP area. The area was posted but our visit was very short. Mud and earth-moving equipment blocked further progress but we did stroll within the contour a short bit. The levee generally runs about 30-35 feet above sea level.
