Franklin County High Point Trip Report
Crum Hill (2841 ft) & Unnamed point 1800 ft northwest of Crum Hill
Date: November 5, 1999
Author: Michael Schwartz
Park at the intersection of Tilda and Bliss Roads, a little more than a mile north
of MA Rte 2. Bushwhack into the woods, contouring to bypass a nearby house before
starting to climb the hill. Almost immediately intersect a new (1999) red-orange
blazed trail, and follow it uphill to within a few feet of Crum Hill's north summit.
This is marked by a large cairn,
and is the "unnamed point 1800' northwest of Crum Hill."
Follow the trail until it starts to drop off sharply, then leave the trail and bushwhack
along the crest through fairly open woods to the true summit, in a large flat area.
Look for a register (nested plastic jars) hanging from a branch at the summit.
The new trail eliminates the former requirement to bushwhack from the west or from east
off the Spruce Mountain Trail.
