Round Top Hill

The HP of Hampden County MA is not far from the Hartford County CT HP. From Chester MA, take US 20 west for about a mile. Turn S on Blandford Road. Follow it S for about 1.5 miles, passing, in a field, a group of buildings owned by a religious group, then turn left onto the first good gravel road you come to. Follow this a short distance to a cemetery, bear left, and follow the road to the top of the first rise. This will be shortly after a woods road bears right downhill. Park at the top of the rise.

Bushwhack semi-steeply uphill to the N, angling slightly E, for about 0.3 miles. Once near the top, the woods open up. Once on the ridge, follow it E to the high point which is marked by a benchmark and two witness markers. At the top you'll meet a white-blazed trail that comes in from the N. Don't use it - go back the way you came. You can continue E on the road you parked on, and will come out on US 20 S of Chester.
