Hampshire County Highpoint Trip Report
West Mtn
Date: November 19, 2006
Author: Brennan Connelly
I followed previous reports the to the parking area on 116 on the west end of
Plainfield Pond. I struck out due south and aimed for the well-defined ridge in
the topo. I easily found the ridge, as well as the Peck Lumber sign that Fred
Lobdell had mentioned in his report. I found both reference marks on the summit
but could not locate BM Bond, despite Dave Covill's directions that it was 7
feet southeast of the highest rocks.
This is an extremely easy fall bushwhack that took about 20 minutes up and 15 down.
