We parked at the pull-off at the southwestern corner of Plainfield Pond.
We left the car at about 11:20. This one is a straight bushwhack all the way from
the road. We took a look at our compass and headed due south from the car.
After about 15 minutes, we came to an obvious ridge and saw the Peck Lumber sign
on a tree as mentioned in previous reports. We took another compass reading and
found that we had somehow turned towards the southwest and had to take a slight
left turn to continue south on the ridge. We reached the summit area maybe 10
minutes later and found the benchmark. We were back at the car 20 minutes later,
very wet from the bushwhacking.
