Route: Travel South on Rt. 222 from the Mason-Dixon Line, through the town of
Rock Springs, 0.2 miles from town intersection, hill extending from road to SE,
there is a Benchmark 535 around 100 feet north from Rt. 222.

Historical Notes: Cecil was created by proclamation in 1674, and takes its name from
Cecil Calvert, the second Lord Baltimore. Thirteen years earlier Augustin(e) Herrman
had proposed a Cecil County and a Ceciltown. The town was never built, but the site
it was to occupy is remembered today in Town Point.

with Benchmark 535 somewhere in the trees behind the house. These two structures are a
