Prince George's County High Point Trip Report
Date: November 8, 2000
Author: Roy Wallen
The highpoint sits on a hill at the end of a driveway off of Riding Stable Road, just northeast of the
Montgomery County line. Directly at the end of the driveway is a large weathered barn, to the left (north)
is a brick house belonging to Jack Collins. Mr. Collins is a gracious host and welcomes highpointers .
On the southeast corner of the barn is a reference mark labeled "Brooklyn No. 1" and the benchmark is
buried in a depression in the grass 50 feet due south. There is another reference mark on the south side of
the chicken house, buried under the flower bed. Only the reference mark by the barn is visible and the
others should not be disturbed (we didn't). The true highpoint appears to be behind the large, renovated,
tan house slightly south of the BM location.
