note: All coordinates are in the WGS84 datum.
This effort was part of a larger journey
collecting New England county highpoints in May 2012.
There are numerous junctions along the short hike from Mr. Castonguay's property to the top of Shackley Hill.
Has everybody heretofore correctly guessed which way to turn at each such decision point?
That's difficult to imagine ... the probability is nearly zero. The following information should make
this hike a "no-brainer".
The grassy track begins
at (44.41138° N, 70.25925° W).
Some of the junctions below may be considered "minor" in that the wrong choice is obvious
because it's by far the less-defined track. I have provided all junctions for completeness.
(44.41265° N, 70.25956° W) - Bear left.
(44.41283° N, 70.26003° W) - Bear right.
(44.41337° N, 70.26011° W) - Bear right.
(44.41400° N, 70.25986° W) - Bear right.
(44.41425° N, 70.25860° W) - Bear left.
(44.41432° N, 70.25810° W) - Bear left.
(44.41674° N, 70.25639° W) - Bear left.
(44.41704° N, 70.25864° W) - Leave track turning right (north).
The top of Shackley Hill
at (44.41740° N, 70.25878° W) features 4 one-foot-tall rocks in the immediate area.
Touch all 4 of them for full credit.
